I drew up a mock sketch of what I would like my contents page to look like. I made sure it was clear to see this is a contents page by having the word 'CONTENTS' at the top of the page and in capitals in a white font as it will placed of top of a coloured background. It will also stay the date. I am thinking of adding a christmas associated image to show that this is a christmas issue. I will include an editors note to make the issue feel for personal and show the relationship between the editor and audience. This is effective as the reader can feel addressed too and included. I have used the same type of layout
I have drawn a sketch of what i hope for my front cover to look like. I made sure I made my logo big enough to make sure it is well seen. I didn't use any colours as i wasn't sure on the colours and how they would look with my background. I've included possible ideas of features and article titles and if any, and a possible image to link with an article. I found sketching a draft front cover helpful as it helps me to decide the layout.
Me and my partner presented our proposol of our magazine to our AS level media class. This is a video of our presentation. I found this very helpful as we made it clear about our set ideas for our magazine. What helped the most was to recieve feedback and questions. I think our presentation makes it very clear about our ideology and other features of our magazine.
A double page spread will be featured in my magazine and by analysing a double page spread from a current music magazine it will help me with my planning and research into how to make a double spage spread look appealing. In the double page spread above(Kerrang). The first page includes Pictures which are related to the story, These pictures are of a band, and some of them include medium shots and medium close up which makes the picture and story seem personal and intimate which is effective for readers as you want your readers to engage in your magazine instead of just flicking through. Some of the images contain direct address which also draws the eye contact of the reader to the picture and also gives it a realitsic feel to it. On the Second page, it features the actual article which is an interview for a band. The language is colloquial but yet fun and informative. This is a good quality of language to have for a specific target audience like 16-24 year olds because they do not want to be bored, they want to keep reading and be interested in what they are reading about so by having play on words and connotations of text, it makes the reader interested. The layout of the text in simply laid out in columns. The pictures are show as a collage on the first page which is a good technique to draw in readers as they will immediatly know who this article is about. The overall feature has a colour scheme to it, this is a good stratergie to have as the features will not look cluttered and unattractive.
Me and my partner put together a proposal for our magazine and presented it to the class. We found this really helpful as we gained feedback from the class on what we could do better and how we could target our audience more successfully.
When I gathered my results together, I had a variety of answers, some people put more than one option which was a huge help and this helped me and my partner to decided how big we want our target audience. When discussed with my partner we decided not to have a specific genre music magazine, we wanted a mix of genres as we feel there is not a magazine that focus' on that. The questionnaire results are good because of the varition presented and this will help our further production into our magazine. One of my questions were about articles and what they would like to see in a magazine, it had a variation of options and also had the option of 'All of the above', the majority ticked 'All of Above'. This showed that we cannot just focus on one paticular thing and the market we wanted yo target will be very limited, so by having a Mix of everything included in my questionnaire has helped to make us realise how to broaden our target audience and how to meet the needs of the audience.
To help with the production with our music magazine, a questionairre was needed to finalise our target audience and what will be in our magazine to meet there desires. My questionairre consitsed of 9 questions.

I handed out my questionairre to 50 people who were mixed gender so 25 female, 25 males. I found producing a questionairre was amazingly helpful as it helps to indentify the contents within our magazine and it helps us to reach our target audience need and interest.
